WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene): Access to clean water and proper sanitation is critical for health and well-being, yet many communities in Afghanistan lack these basic necessities. The country faces challenges with water scarcity, poor sanitation infrastructure, and hygiene practices, which contribute to high rates of waterborne diseases and overall public health issues. OFRD is dedicated to improving WASH conditions in Afghanistan by implementing comprehensive programs that provide clean water, build and repair sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene education. Our projects focus on constructing wells, building water reservoirs, establishing water supply schemes, installing latrines, and conducting hygiene awareness campaigns. By improving access to clean water and sanitation, and fostering better hygiene habits, OFRD aims to reduce the incidence of disease and enhance the quality of life for Afghan families, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees. Additionally, our emergency WASH response ensures disaster-affected populations receive timely and adequate support to maintain their health and dignity during crises.

Agriculture: is a cornerstone of Afghanistan’s economy, yet many farmers face challenges such as limited access to resources, outdated farming techniques, and the impacts of climate change. OFRD is committed to enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security across the country. Our programs focus on providing farmers with training in modern agricultural practices, supplying high-quality seeds and tools, and promoting sustainable farming methods. We also work on improving irrigation systems, constructing greenhouses, and supporting livestock farming to diversify income sources and increase food production.
